![]() ![]() There's typically a beta period once developers get done fiddling with core game mechanics in the alpha builds, where you finally lock features in and start refining and optimizing to get the game polished for official release. Might be they are taking a little extra time to get a balance that is a good compromise between their vision and what the players are clamoring for. Well, there has been a proven history of underestimating timeframes for the next major alpha iteration, so the wait for A18 isn't exactly a shock.īut, I have to wonder if some of the delay has been due to the big blowback from players once they dropped A17, expressing dislike up to downright hatred over many of the majorly changed game features (skills and perks being a major one). When A17 was released they were expecting A18 within 3 months and it to be a minor thing before starting to wrap up the games features for release, clearly that hasnt happened but has something been said that changes the rough plan?Īre they still expecting release this year for example? We are around level 40'ish currently.Originally posted by Darkside99x:I havent been keeping up to date the last few months but wasn't the game supposed to be entering final stages of Alpha with A18? Thing is, for few of the players who are not combat spec its getting a bit tough to go out solo, ofc it can be done but the ammo consumption is getting a bit on the high side while for the combat specced players even these are bit on the easy side. Also after the last bloodmoon we turned on nightmare speed for zeds during night and made the day ones jog instead of just slowly walking. We currently use warrior (3, 150% z damage, 75% player damage), 12 zeds per player on bloodmoon, 20 d blood moons, 120 min a day (so a blood moon night is 30 min long) and have a house rule of not cheesing the AI - no floating stuff or things making zeds just run circles under you - bases must look plausible. Its for sure a learning experience for all of us on this server, as we discovered 7D2D relatively recently in a small LAN we had, so this co-op server play is kinda first experience with 7D2D for a lot of us. I'm not opposed to the mods that alter gameplay or add new stuff as long as they are reasonably balanced. Only had to add bunch of extra RAM there as it turned out that 16k maps are pretty heavy. I'm already hosting a server for us (Nitrogen 16k map, about 8 concurrent players, co-op) in a spare machine I had lying around which was running teamspeak for us anyway. Can you play in vanilla server still with mods installed or are you limited to only the servers with exact same set of mods once you mod the game?ĭo you have a list of changes you made written up somewhere? What are the different "classes" of mods for 7D2D? - At first glance it seems some are something called "total connversion" and others are "modlets" and some are "mods" - what is the difference? Which is which? I take that some are just basically edits to server-side configuration files while some others involve fresh assets. Is there any decent mod manager that keeps track of your mods and their updating, so that you dont have to do it all by hand? Have the developers commented on this why not? I mean is it a specific reason or just an oversight of not enabling some flag? I see that 7D2D does not have a "Workshop" section in Steam - i.e., you cant download mods from Steam but have to do them by hand. Only one post per Let's Play series (This rule includes livestreams, such as on Twitch and YouTube Gaming)Īs the title says - is there any good mod packs which combine a number of smaller things into one package which is all compatible without conflicts?. ![]() ![]() Do not advertise your server more than once per month. No Spamming the same message in multiple threads. If you feel you have been unfairly banned, message the moderators to discuss it.
